Aargh!

I think i’m about to hit critical meltdown. I can normally cope with these sorts of days coz usually I’m at work part of the day, in glorious airconditioning. But this week I’m not, I’ve done my shifts and I’m at home with two fans and a bunch of stale hot air. It’s not my idea of fun at all.

The paper says that our power reserves are dangerously low. If we lose power here I might just be forced to go and find a shop to curl up in. It’s too hot for the beach and not having a car means relying on public transport, which is about as useful as, well, public transport on a stinking hot day! But now according to the head of Connex, it’s the union’s fault that 80% of the trains are cancelled. The blame game has shifted to a new focus, oh yay.

I was listening to Jon Faine’s program on 774 this morning and he brought up the report done by the OECD, which basically says that competitive tendering is a complete balls up and they recommended that no one follow Victoria’s example. Minister Kosky dismissed the report saying it was just another report and plenty had been done. Uh hello – OECD isn’t just anyone. Politicians in this country, of any persuasion, make me want to harm things.

Anywho, that doesn’t help me and my sweaty status one bit. I’m stuck at home, it’s too hot to ride anywhere. It’s days like these that I wish I had a car, so I could drive somewhere, anywhere. I’d even go see a movie or two, just to get out of the heat for a few hours. Meh.

It’s midday and it’s 40.3 degrees after an overnight minimum of 29. We’ve got another day or so of this to come. Hoofuckingray.
