Yes, that’s correct folks, I’ve found somewhere to live and I’m moving in the next month.  I’ve paid a months rent on both my current place and my new place, so I’ll have that time to move bits and pieces over in the car and finish up with a truck at the end of it.
I’m so very relieved that I’m not having to trawl through real estate websites anymore, it’s soul destroying stuff, though it can be comical.  I thought of starting an entry posting pics of all the lovely houses I’d seen advertised, but now I can’t be bothered.  Needless to say, avocado green or pastel pink baths and toilets aren’t my thing!  Nor are navy blue kitchens.
The place I’m moving to has polished floor boards and an older style kitchen & bathroom, but it’s clean and functional, so I’m more than happy.  It has an aircon and a gas wall furnace, so I will be able to curl up in front of it like a content cat.  ALL BY MYSELF (well with Tamika Moo).
Best ever is that it’s 550m from my Nanna’s house, so I will be able to visit her as much or as little as I want.  It’s also walking distance to Southland, which is handy.  Plus it’s a 12 minute drive to the beach, which is super.  The only downside will be it’s a longer drive to work, but given I’m a night shift worker there shouldn’t be much traffic on the roads.  Eventually, after my surgery and recovery, I’ll attempt to find a counselling job somewhere closer to home.
So yes, it’s been a good couple of weeks for me.  Things finally feel like they’re falling into place a bit more.
