The day of births

No, don’t get excited, my sister hasn’t given birth, yet. She’s due tomorrow, so any time now.

Today is her birthday, my Dad’s birthday and my neighbours birthday (my neighbour that we grew up next door to). 3 days ago was their son’s birthday. Last night we went to Sarocha Thai Dining Room to celebrate with everyone. It was a lovely night with lots of good food and great company.

I’m enjoying this hot stretch of weather, though most Melburnians seem to be whinging about it! This is how summer should be. Last weekend was perfect. Ian and Anja were here from the UK and we spent Friday being tourists around the city. We went up Eureka Tower which was a highlight, I’ve never been! Then Saturday we went to Gunnamatta and had a surf lesson, which was hilarious and a lot of fun. Gunnamatta was gorgeous, I’d love to go back when there’s a huge swell and the waves are crashing in. Apparently they only do surf lessons there 3-4 times a year as it’s normally too dangerous, lucky for us it was perfect.

Tomorrow I’m off to the Spiegeltent to see Justin Bond perform. I’ve been wanting to see him for years, so I’m dead excited that Harvs and I will get to see his show. Justin was the host in the movie Short Bus! Love that movie.

It was the 30th Anniversary of Ash Wednesday last weekend. My Dad had some of his writing published in the local rag up there. I will put it in a separate blog post as it’s quite long and rather interesting. I have sketchy memories of the day, I feel like I have lost great swathes of it for some reason. I remember coming back home and the aftermath, just not much of the day and the week after. Weird.

And as usual, onto the photos. I’m sleepy and can’t think of much to write. I’ve been busy, just can’t remember what on earth I’ve been doing.

Oh yeah, I did my other photo shoot recently and had a blast with the lovely Morgana.

  1. You have certainly been busy enough. I really like the first photo of you and the drawing is good too. I must remember to show the bees to my niece one day. I look forward to reading what you father remembers of that day some thirty years ago.

  2. July is like that in our family. Everyone has their birthday! Mum and Dad must’ve been busy in November. 😉

    I love that Drawing.
